Mahj Haus is Louisville's mobile mahjong experience — we come to you. Whether it's your living room, a local bar, or a private event space, we bring the tiles, the instruction, and all the good vibes. No storefront, no fuss, just good games wherever you are.

The game is old. The vibe is new. We host beginners, friend groups, bachelorettes, corporate teams, and venue partners across Kentuckiana.

Our Story

Tiles Followed Us Everywhere

Mahj Haus started the way a lot of good things do: on vacation.

We were in Park City for a family ski weekend when Kayla's mom broke out a mahjong set, taught us the basics, and didn't get the tiles back for the rest of the trip.

That weekend turned into Sunday afternoons in mom's basement. Sunday afternoons turned into the patio. The patio turned into "wherever there's a flat surface." We played at the kitchen table, at friends' houses, on the back porch, and — yes — at the hospital while Kayla was in labor with our son. (Quick rounds. We had time.)

That's how this business was born, basically. If we'd haul tiles anywhere, why not bring the experience to other people too? So that's what Mahj Haus is: a husband-and-wife duo, our tile sets, our playlist, and a real soft spot for getting people around a table.

Mahjong 101

From shuffle to call — we teach American rules, the NMJL card, and enough table talk to have you looking seasoned by round three.
